Advanced Event Configuration

To set up advanced configuration for an individual event, scroll down to Advanced Configuration - Per Event at the bottom of the events and scoring management screen, and click the event you wish to edit.

The advanced configuration page can also be accessed by clicking Manage whilst viewing an event page outside of the management screens.

Advanced Config Screen

Event Information

  • Name - The name of the event
  • Question - Relevant for virtual competitions, question to be displayed to those submitting results.
  • CE Scoring Formula - A custom scoring formula for combined events, with athletes' performances in seconds/metres represented as x.
  • Rank Vertical Jumps by - Select either default athletics rules or to rank them by combined events score.

Scheduling

  • Rounds - The round structure which determines the number of heats in each round, i.e. 7,3,1 for 7 heats, 3 semi-finals and 1 final
  • Round X Day - Which day of the competition is round X to be held on? For single day competitions this will always be 1.
  • Round X Time - Scheduled time for round X
  • Heat Time Calculation - Choose from AUTO or MANUAL. AUTO will schedule heats with a reasonable gap between, and MANUAL allows you to edit the times in each heat's individual page.

Note

If you are not able to see the day/time fields for a round, make sure the round structure of your event has that number of rounds defined.

Field Event Configuration

  • Max Field Attempts - The number of attempts competitors are allowed in horizontal field events. This defines the number of columns shown in input and display screens and printouts.
  • Cut After Round - If there is a cut in the field, the round after which this happens. A cut halfway through a 6 round event would have this set to 3. If there is no field cut, use 0.
  • Cut Survivors - If there is a cut, how many athletes will survive the cut?

Round Progression

  • Qualifying Criteria in Text - For a multi-round competition, what is the qualifying criteria? For example, 2 per heat and 2 fastest losers.

Note

If you are using OpenTrack's seeding and multi-round progression, text containing qualification information will be automatically generated for you on relevant pages and printouts.

Teams

  • Team Types - Which organisations can compete in this event, if different from the overall competition? The default is Competition Default but can be changed to Clubs, National Teams and Ad-Hoc.

Records

  • Record Text - Who is the meeting record holder, and when was the record set?
  • Record Performance - What is the meeting record performance?

Qualifying Performance

Useful if you have multiple pools, or have an elite only event within the competition.

  • Minimum Performance - Restrict who can enter the competition, by entering a minimum time/distance/height, where entries with a QP less than will be rejected.
  • Maximum Performance - Restrict who can enter the competition, by entering a maximum time/distance/height, where entries with a QP greater than will be rejected.

Call Room

  • Call Room - Enable or disable the call room feature for this event only.
  • Call Room Time Override - Change the time prior to the event start to end the call room, for this event only.

Settings

  • Hide in timetable - When ticked, the event will not be displayed in the public event listing, but will still be visible to competition directors.
  • Exclude from scoring system - When ticked, the event will not have points calculated as part of any scoring tables
  • Show Form Guide? - When ticked, an additional Form Guide tab is shown on unit pages, and is able to be populated with information taken from Tilastopaja.

World Athletics ID

  • To add the event ID, click the ADD WA EVENT ID, if there are multiple IDs to choose from click SELECT WA EVENT ID and then select the correct event from the drop down menu.

Note

When selecting from multiple event IDs, the one without a weight specified is the senior weight.

Functions

  • Renumber event - Change the event ID safely, ensuring it doesn't clash with existing events and all entries are transferred.
Renumber Events
  • Merge Events - Merge events of the same discipline together. For example, if a competition has two long jump pools set up as different events, these can be merged into a single event.
Merge Events
