Understanding Records

There are three types of records in our database:

  • Organisation-based
  • Competition-based
  • Venue-based

Organisation-based records are things like club records, or national records, where the athletes need to belong to an identifiable organisation (i.e. they are a club member, or a certain nationality).

These records are grouped by the OpenTrack Organisation attached to them.

Competition-based records are things like meeting records or championships records, where the performances need to have taken place at a specific competition or type of competition.

These records are grouped by the OpenTrack Competition Series attached to them.

Venue-based records are things like venue/stadium/facility records, where performances need to have taken place at a specific venue.

There records are grouped by the OpenTrack Venue attached to them.
