Copying a Competition

If you already have a competition with a similar setup to the one you want to create, you can copy it, transferring whatever data you need across.

To get started, find the competition you want to copy, and click COPY in the red banner at the top of the page.

Competition Details

  • You can select to hide your copied competition from the public, which will make it accessible only via the URL.
  • Select the date and slug of your new competition. If you're just creating a competition for the following season, no need to change the slug! This allows people to toggle between each annual iteration of your competitions.
A competition with this slug already exists.

You can't have two competition in the same year, with the same slug, therefore if you were to copy a competition from January, and wanted to hold the next iteration in December, you would need a new slug.

Copy Parameters

You can choose what you want to copy:

  • Officials will copy over everyone's privileges from the previous competition.

  • Teams will copy over any pre-configured teams.

  • Competitors will bring over all competitors from the previous competition.

  • Start Lists will bring over any seeded races.

  • Results will bring over any results.

To finish, just click COPY and your competition will begin to be created.

Small competitions will be created instantly, but for larger ones (with a reasonable number of competitors copied across), you'll just need to wait for everything to copy across.

You'll be given a link to where your competition will eventually be, to finish the setup.
