OpenTrack Docs

Welcome to OpenTrack's documentation. OpenTrack is always developing and evolving, and we are constantly adding to this documentation.

Competition Quick Start Guide

  • Start by creating your competition on OpenTrack and adding all your competition details.
  • Next, create your timetable and configure your events grid.
  • Now you've defined your events, you will want to configure entries, choosing when they open and close, who can enter, and how much everyone will pay.
  • Once entries are open there isn't too much to do on OpenTrack, but make sure you've got your venue, first aid and officials all booked in.
  • After entries close, you will want to number your competitors, and if you haven't already, order your numbers.
  • Now seed your races and publish the start list, and you're ready to start your meet.
  • During or after your meet, results can be uploaded using our photofinish integration, live field recording, or our manual track/field input.
  • Finally, all that is left to do is send off your results to the statistician and mark your results as official.

Athletics Meet

  • Start by creating your competition on OpenTrack and adding all your competition details.
  • Next you will want to configure your events grid, you will likely only have a few events with them only differing by distance and age groups.
  • You now will want to configure your entries, deciding if there are any licence requirements, how much entry costs and when does it open & close.
  • Once entries are open there isn't too much to do on OpenTrack, but make sure you've got your venue, first aid and officials all booked in.
  • You will now need to number all your competitors and decide how you'll distribute the numbers, and you can seed each race to create a start list with all the runners but this isn't required for XC & Road races.
  • You should now be ready to start your race(s), but you'll need to upload results during or after the competition either using our chip timing integration or simply manually inputting your results.
  • Finally, all that is left to do is send off your results to the statistician and mark your results as official.
